A heaving little bar squeezed into the base of a skyscraper in Sydney's CBD.

An exercise in silhouettes and scale. A skinny little room, but the massive wall of wine becomes boss of the corporate forecourt. The backdrop is animated by bartenders reaching for the top shelf. The lighting is strategic and simple: the gleam off the honey-coloured timber makes the bar act as a lantern, radiating a warm invitation.

The Local Bar is the big sister of the Local Bar in Neutral Bay, also by RDO. Hand painted signage by Will Lynes.
